Walking into IIM Bodh Gaya for my MBA felt like a dream coming true. The teachers and senior students welcomed us with such warmth. It made me feel that all my hard work to get here was worth it.
The orientation week was full of excitement. I quickly made new friends who I know will be with me for life. The teachers told us how everything works at the college. We also had the opportunity to hear from industry experts like Mr. Ashish Kulkarni from Boston Consulting Group and Mr. Jayant Prakash from Ernst & Young, who shared stories about their business lives. Learning about what our MBA journey could lead to was really interesting.
One special moment was when Dr. Varun Kapoor, IPS (Additional Director General of Police, Madhya Pradesh), delivered his speech. He showed us different ways to look at life and how college changes people. In the evening, we had a cultural program called “Novicia” with singing and dancing performances by my new batchmates. It was amazing and way better than I expected.
The six-day orientation period included many fun activities. We explored the campus and played games that taught us management skills. When under pressure, we learned how to make quick decisions and work as a team. It was surprising how much we could learn about management just by playing games.
We also acquired technical skills like Excel, coding, and how to communicate in a business environment. We studied accounting and statistics too. Some subjects were new and challenging for many students, but the teachers helped make them easy and fun for us.
Different clubs and committees showcased their objectives and activities. This helped me understand where I might want to join based on my interests. The guidance about choosing the right path for my future was really helpful.
This orientation week was perfect: full of learning, friendships, and fun. It’s a wonderful start to my MBA journey, and I’m excited for what’s coming next.
