Why SEP?
Namaste/Bonjour!
We are delighted to share with you all that we will be studying our last term at Montpellier Business School in France, as part of the Student Exchange Program (SEP), spearheaded by the International Relations Committee at IIM Bodh Gaya. We would spend three months (January to March, 2023) in France learning Business Management at one of the top B-Schools in the world.
When we embarked on our journey towards an MBA, we both shared the dream of being able to spend some time studying abroad. We were lucky to come to IIM Bodh Gaya. With 26 MOUs signed with institutions worldwide, our institute provides a multitude of opportunities to students in terms of International Exchange. Firstly, we feel delighted that we will be able to fulfil the dream of a world-class business education by being a part of Montpellier Business School in France, a triple-accredited institution which is ranked among the top 1% of business schools in the world. Secondly, the SEP would be a transformative experience personally as we would be interacting with great minds from around the globe. We see ourselves solving new kinds of problems in a diverse classroom. We will not only acquire new skills (both technical and interpersonal) but also learn about various traditions, places, people and culture. Such an exposure would enrich us, make us more creative in our approaches, and shape us as global leaders. Finally, this opportunity would be the biggest learning experience in terms of team management and behavioural skills. As future managers and business collaborators, respecting diversity and working with contrasting personalities is an essential skill in people management. In France, we would be challenged to adapt to a new ethnic setup and be forced to work with an open mind and a progressive perspective. We will carry forward this learning to our future professional lives.
We are really excited about our trip to France, and we look forward to gaining a lot from it. We are also keen to make our presence felt by introducing our new friends to Indian customs and traditions as well as through our contributions in the classroom by showcasing the knowledge that we have gained at IIM Bodh Gaya. This will further strengthen the relationship established between the two partner institutions. After all the hustle of this MBA life and the juggle between courses, clubs & committees, internships, case competitions, and whatnot, a Student Exchange Programme would be the perfect ending to this MBA journey. We know that we will have to miss our convocation with our own batch, and convocate instead with our junior batch. However, this will not stop us from pursuing our dream of learning at one of the best management institutes in the world. This Exchange Program won’t be just another three months in our life; it will be like experiencing a lifetime.
We both would be more than happy to answer any questions about the SEP opportunities at IIM Bodh Gaya. In case there are any inhibitions or confusions that are holding you back from applying, you can reach out to us at yeshwanthd2023@iimbg.ac.in or deepshikhaa2023@iimbg.ac.in. France is one of the top world economies and a dream destination for students pursuing a higher education. We believe that this golden opportunity would help us become better versions of ourselves and prepare us to face the challenges of tomorrow, come what may. The time has come for us to spread our wings and take flight!
