Welcoming the Batch of IPM 04

The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIMBG) proudly welcomed its 4th batch of Integrated Programme in Management (IPM 04) with a two-day orientation program held on August 24th and 25th, 2024, at the Niranjana Auditorium in Bodh Gaya.

Day 1 of the orientation commenced with an inspiring address by Dr. Vinita Sahay, the Founder and Director of IIMBG. She warmly welcomed the parents, who were brimming with pride as they witnessed their children reaching this significant milestone. Following this, the main orientation program began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, accompanied by a Saraswati Vandana to seek blessings from the Goddess of Knowledge, a devotional dance dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The students were then taken on a virtual campus tour through a video showcasing the IIMBG campus.

The orientation continued with addresses from key faculty members, including Mr. C.V. Sunil Kumar chairperson of the Admission Committee and Mr. Vittal Ranjan, Chairperson of the IPM program, followed by the Director’s addressal. The speaker session kicked off with Mr. Shiva Kumar, Operating Partner at Advent Private Equity, who engaged the Gen Z audience with contemporary slang. He emphasized the importance of focusing on academics, the significance of the three years of graduation, and the value of soft skills in personal and professional growth.

After a short snack break, the cultural program “Estovia 3.0” energized the new batch of IPM 04. The event commenced with a semi-classical dance by IPM 02 students, a dynamic performance by the IIMBG Dance Crew (DCWN), soulful singing by IPM 02 and 03 students, a band performance by “Story Tellers” from IPM 03, and an energetic and lively dance performance by the IPM 03 students. The event continued with spirited performances by IPM 04 students, showcasing their talents in dance, singing, tabla, and guitar. The first day of orientation concluded on a joyous note.

Day 2 kicked off with a motivational talk by Mr. Navneet Nilendra, an International Art of Living teacher and wellness coach, who highlighted the importance of mindfulness and a healthy lifestyle. This was followed by an address by Dr. Vittal Rangan, IPM Chairperson. The day also featured speeches from industry leaders, including Mr. Karthik Venkat from India Tech Partnerships (Ads) at Google, who shared his journey and discussed the importance of resilience and learning from failures; Mr. Manoj Kumar, General Manager—LPG at HPCL, who talked about essential skills required for the workforce; and Mr. Prateek Yadav, Expert Partner at BCG Zurich, along with Mr. Nilangshu Nandi, Director of Sales & Marketing at OLA.

After the lunch break, the program continued with an IPM policy discussion and presentations from all the committees of IIMBG. The orientation program concluded, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for the IPM 04 batch.
