Independence Day in IIM Bodh Gaya
The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya recently celebrated the 78th Independence Day on 15th August 2024, with great pomp and ceremony. The day aimed to boost the ‘Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative to foster a sense of sustainability and unity among the nation’s citizens.
The event commenced with a welcome speech delivered by Dr. Shreelekha Mishra, Chairperson of Student Affairs at IIM Bodh Gaya. Subsequently, the Indian flag was hoisted by Prof. Vinita S. Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The atmosphere was imbued with patriotism, respect for the country, and reverence for the soldiers who sacrifice their lives for the nation’s protection. Prof. Vinita S. Sahay addressed the institute, offering words of wisdom and encouragement.
Following the formal ceremonies, a vibrant cultural program unfolded. Many students from the newly admitted batches presented dance performances, while others showcased their vocal talents through solo and group performances and played instruments. Children of faculty members added to the event’s splendor with their dance performances and musical renditions.
The Sports Committee organized various athletic competitions. The institute’s guards engaged in a tug-of-war, while staff and faculty members participated in a lemon and spoon race, enjoying the friendly competition. A sack race further added to the merriment and laughter. The event featured a variety of delectable dishes and the day concluded on a positive note.
