Elegante 2024

In the spirit of fusing and lighting, the soulful energies of IIM Bodh Gaya celebrated its seventh annual celebration, ELEGANTE 7.0. Throughout ELEGANTE 7.0, which took place from January 26th to 28th, 2024, various committees of the institution collaborated on several activities. Campus tours and competitions between colleges were part of the fest, which welcomed participants from a variety of educational institutions.

On January 21, 2024, the Pragati-CSR committee, with support from the Student Affairs Council and the Hostel and Mess Committee, organized the RIVERATHON—SAVE NIRANJANA marathon to serve as the start of ELEGANTE 7.0.

The first day of the cultural festival began on January 26, national day, with the hoisting of the national flag and the playing of the national anthem. Then, on the same day, Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, director of IIM Bodh Gaya, inaugurated the sports complex and introduced the competitive sports teams. The commencement of the festival was proclaimed by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Lieutenant PS Minhas, Commandant, OTA Bodh Gaya, who addressed the gathering. The inaugural ceremony included a cultural show, and then there was a cricket match between a team from OTA and one from IIM Bodh Gaya, consisting of both students and faculty. As night fell, the jam session and a bonfire came to an end.

At the start of the second day, the kids’ exhilarating spirit of sportsmanship drew onlookers to the floor, which was adorned with lace-up sneakers, bossy hats, and an air of pure athleticism. Our esteemed chairpersons of the Student Affairs and Sports Committees, Dr. Sreelekha Mishra and Dr. Amresh Kumar, respectively, were instrumental in planning the event.

The spectacular NAVYATA fashion show, which took place on a chilly night, boosted the temperature with their glittering walks. Participants from IDT Muzaffarpur, Bihar, as well as students of IIM Bodh Gaya, sparked the evening with their glitz and glitter. Not only that, but the musical band Tattva spared no effort in turning the already-melodious evening into a symphony of sound thanks to the amazing performances by singer and lyricist Aseem Sharma.

In phase two of the ‘Happy Periods’ campaign, which the CSR committee launched in KV, OTA Gaya, and DAV Public School, the dynamic group distributed free sanitary pads to students sponsored by Niine to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene and the use of tampons.

Finally, the third day arrived, and it was jam-packed with excitement and energy, with activities such as quizzes, solo dancing and singing contests, and more. The students from Creative Dance Academy in Patna and IIM Bodh Gaya wowed the audience with their spectacular solo and group dance performances on January 28.

After a series of events in cricket, football, and basketball, the event culminated in a prize distribution ceremony, when our Hon’ble Director and guests celebrated the winners in volleyball, badminton, chess, and table tennis. As the DJ night compelled not only us to move but also to give a touching embrace to this ELEGANTE 7.0, we ended the third and last day with joy and sweaty faces at 9 degrees Celsius.
