Basant Panchami- Wisdom for Enlightenment

Saraswati Puja is a celebration of knowledge and wisdom. The divine goddess symbolizes universal intelligence, consciousness, and knowledge. It is a significant event for IIM Bodh Gaya, as it aligns with the institute’s core values of lifelong learning and mindfulness. This excitement around the event was highlighted by the Cultural Committee’s effort to put the event together. Weeks of tremendous hard work was poured into every single aspect of the event.

This effort became fruitful on the morning of 26th January as the students of IIM Bodhgaya gathered and sang Saraswati Vandana in unison to worship the goddess on the occasion of Basant Panchami. A blissful feeling dawned on our hearts as our Director, Prof. Vinita Sahay, started the aarti, followed by the rest of the faculty members. Later, puja was done by the students as the chants of Karpur Gauram resonated through the air. The prasad arranged by the Hostel and Mess Committee was distributed among the students after the puja.

In the evening of this auspicious day, students gathered around for the Saraswati aarti. Dressed in ethnic wear, with a cool evening breeze and a magnificent sunset sky, students attained stithpragya: a calm and happy state of mind. After the aarti, students relished the delicious prasad and enjoyed the rest of the evening.

With another aarti in the following morning and the Saraswati Visarjan in the evening, Saraswati Puja was celebrated splendidly by the students and faculty of IIM Bodh Gaya. With the blessings of Goddess Saraswati for all of our future endeavors, students wholeheartedly welcomed the onset of spring and embraced the awakening of our lives.

The students of IIM Bodh Gaya come from different places, cultures, and ethnicities. The difference may seem like night and day. But, on events like these, we come together to pay our homage and offer our prayers to the Almighty. We hope that goddess Saraswati will bestow upon us the wisdom and the knowledge to help us on our journey as students of IIM Bodh Gaya.
